Reaction to my letter

I've mostly received generic auto-response messages from those vendors I contacted. In other words, thank you for your time, we probably really didn't read it, but thanks anyway.

However, Foot Locker actually took time to respond.
Dear MC,
Thank you for your email.
We appreciate your kind feedback!
Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,

No "Merry Christmas" there.

Of course, I wouldn't be offended if Foot Locker had said "Merry Christmas."

I just object to the AFA in trying to control everyone by forcing them to say it.

Such jerks.

UPDATE (12/6/2011): Staples had this to say in an email.
Hi Matt, thank you for contacting Staples.
Staples respects all cultural and religious celebrations during the holiday season, including Christmas. However, rather than singling out Christmas as our only focus, we prefer to wish our customers peaceful and happy ?holidays? in honor and respect of all cultural and religious celebrations at this time of year.
We do certainly appreciate your feedback, and are glad you will continue to be a valued Staples customer.
Thank you for this opportunity to respond to your inquiry. I hope you will continue to look to Staples with confidence and satisfaction for all of your office supply needs.
If you would like to contact one of our representatives, please reply to this email or call us at the number listed below.

Notice there is no Christmas censorship here, but a very practical approach to the holiday season that is inclusive and "in honor and respect of all cultural and religious celebrations at this time of year."

Bravo Staples!
